Great Western Runners

So you want to take up running but don't know where to start? Or used to run but have had time off maybe for an injury or to have a baby?
Then our New Runners Sessions are designed especially for you.

At GWR every Wednesday, as part of our normal club night, we hold sessions for the complete beginner or returner to running. The aim of the sessions are to build you up to be able to join one of our regular training groups.

 

The sessions are run by one of our UK Athletics qualified coaches who are available to advise and help with all aspects of getting started with running.

We will start by asking you about your running experience and guage your level of fitness and where you are at with your running. The session itself will consist of a run or walk/run as appropriate to those taking part during which time you can ask us questions about any aspect of running.

The beginners group has been very successful over the last eighteen months or so and many have gone one to complete 5K's, 10K's and half marathon's.
