Great Western Runners

I would like to thank the Arthur Dagger Memorial Trustees again for providing me with a grant for this season.

This year I have achieved my personal goal of being selected for the Avon Schools team where I competed in the U17 100m hurdles at England Schools Athletics Championships in Birmingham.  I was disappointed with my positioning; however this was my 1st year competing in the U17’s age group at this level.

In the high jump I have increased my PB to 1.80m, which surprised me because it is an event which I have not been able to train for but which I usually compete in it to gain my club points.  Maybe I should consider competing in this event more in the future.

Recently I competed in the England Championships in the 100m hurdles where my performance was much better than the England Schools. My performance was competitive and as it was my last event of the year.  I now look forward to good winter training in preparation for next season.

The grant has helped me to purchase specific performance clothing for training and has assisted me with the cost of transport.
